Venue: Steigenberger Airport Hotel Amsterdam Stationsplein Zuid-West 951, 1117 CE Schiphol, Netherlands
Registration is now open for the 2020 SSIEM Academy. The application process is available by clicking on this link and submitting the online form. The form will be open until the registration deadline at midnight (GMT) on October 30th 2019. Please note that this is a different application website to previous years due maintenance.
In order to submit your application you will need to upload a current curriculum vitae (CV), supporting letter from your head of department and letter outlining your experience and career interests.
The topics of the 2020 Academy will be Aminoacidopathies, Hyperammonaemia, Urea cycle defects.
As in previous years the SSIEM Academy course, for clinicians and laboratory scientists working in inborn errors of metabolism, will be held over 2 days. Teaching will be as interactive as possible and in addition to lectures will involve workshops and case discussions.
Attendees of previous Academies are very welcome to apply for this year's course and we would like to have representatives from as many countries as possible. However as places are limited to 40 for each course (clinical and laboratory science), if the Academy is oversubscribed there may be a selection process.
Accepted delegates will be contacted within 5 weeks of the applications deadline and will be asked to submit an abstract for a case presentation on a topic related to the Academy.
Accepted delegates will also be asked to pay a small registration fee (100 Euro) for the Academy. Academy registration includes:
• Accommodation (including breakfast) for the nights of 19th and 20th April
• Lunches on the 20th and 21st April
There will also be an evening meal for all Academy attendees on the 20th April 2020 for which there will be a nominal fee of 16 Euro.
Please note participants will pay their own travel costs.
